Immediately after the publication of the book it was suppressed .. and explains the provenance of the set, in the second volume a retained blank from an earlier binding has a 1821 inscription forwarding it from England to John MacDougall Lawrence; the sensational and unsuccessful attempt to deprive Caroline of her title as queen.
